April Edition 2011

First of all, thank you to all that came out for the spring into golf party held this past weekend at the clubhouse.  We had a great
crowd all night long.  With the recent cold and wet weather it is especially important to keep the clubhouse busy.  Before I get to future events, we would like to list all of the parties that contributed prizes that greatly assist in our membership drive. What was really surprising this year were the number of donations coming from businesses outside of Manson. If you purchased half of your membership by Saturday night please check the clubhouse to see if you have a prize waiting for you.

Those donating included: Big Beve's, KC's Bar, Heartland Bank, Heartland Insurance, Affiliated Foods, Swanson Hardware, Napa, Dr. Johnson/Dr. Leppert, Beachhouse Bar and Grill, Sneakers, Champion Auto, Rost Motors, Ron Siepker Insurance, Bill Axman Insurance, Journal-Herald, Star Energy, Country Inn and Suites, Manson Industries, Iowa Central Community College, Paul Mogensen Painting, Byrons Bar, Pam Scott, Calhoun County Implement, Heather Leith (Unique Tee Shirts), Eagle Lanes, Pro Cooperative, KHI Financial Solutions and Pizza Ranch.  If anyone was left out I sincerely apologize.

This Saturday evening there is a second open mic night planned from 8-10 p.m. The initial one was held at Eagle Lanes a few weeks ago.  If you have a talent related to singing, playing an instrument, comic routine, etc., come on out and show it off.  At 10:00 the local band Sweet and Low Down will hit the stage for their inaugural public performance.  Come on out and check out the entertainment. Then the following weekend on April 30 we will celebrate Todd Partlow's 50th birthday party with the band Austin Stranglers featuring Brandon Scott Sellner set to perform.

The first tournament of the year, a two person best shot, takes place on Sunday, May 1st.  There are several graduations scheduled for May as well.  A new event has been planned for Sunday, May 29th.  The first annual Birdie Bowl Tournament will be played.  This will consist of a combination best shot golf tournament and scotch doubles bowling.  There will be two shifts including 9 holes of golf and then bowling which will then be converted to a golf score.  We already have many teams signed up.  We will be moving that sign up sheet from the bowling alley to the golf course by this weekend.

Lastly, I also have the two person best shot Monday Night League sign up in the clubhouse.  We are looking to increasing the total number of teams for the 3rd straight year.  Please review the information posted on the bulletin board near the computer area.  If you have any questions feel free to give me a call to discuss.

Well, that is a pretty full slate for the next 30-45 days.  Now just please bring on some sunshine for goodness sake!
